Big news ahead!

I've teamed up with both a programmer and a musician, two incredibly talented people who’ve generously offered their time to bring one of my game concepts to life.

And not just any game, this one’s being made in celebration of Newgrounds’ 30th birthday!

I’ve contributed to collabs before, but this is the first time I’ve ever led one of my own. It feels surreal, honestly.

We’re still in the early stages, and we’d love more people to join the collab. If this sounds like your kind of project, whether you’re an artist, musician, or just a Newgrounds history buff, here’s the forum link with all the details.

I’ve been an on and off poster for a while, but it hit me recently, I haven’t touched Twitter since the switch to X. DeviantArt lost me over its AI policies, Tumblr feels like a ghost town, and every time I check Bluesky, my feed turns into a political minefield, even though I don’t engage with any of it.

At this point, this platform feels like the only place where I have any real presence as an artist.

So, I guess this is officially my main hub now. It’s exhausting starting over, first on DA, then Tumblr, then Twitter, only to watch the art community jump ship.

I’m really hoping this is the last time I’ll have to pack up and rebuild. I just want to focus on creating art and connecting with people.

• Concept Art - Currently creating some concepts for Griptape Havok, a 2D skateboarding game.

A message for indie artists - based on the discussions seen on Twitter recently about people nit picking that someone's project has similarities to another in the same genre. It's so annoying when someone says "This character reminds me of XYZ!" or "This is kind of like that one episode in XYZ" or "This location looks like ABC in XYZ's Comic!"

There has been a lot of comparisons and dragging down independent creators because they have the same setting as other creators stories might and are held at ridiculous standards, even higher than that of corporations. What the audiences involved need to realise are T.V Tropes and Genres have been around since humans could tell stories and that nothing will truly ever be 100% original because somewhere it can be traced back to an inspiration or reference.

The reason I'm posting it here is because NG is the home of art, and I especially know the feelings of wanting to not continue any original projects due to the nagging feeling that someone, somewhere has already done it.

Hi, I am Nyx, though online I am predominately known by my social media handle Cosmicpunked. I recently graduated from University...and then 2020 happened. Listed above are some of the illustrative styles you can be expecting to see me post.

I enjoy taking pre-existing characters and applying them to new plots and alternate realities to experiment with how different events can alter and change a character etc. It's something I enjoy doing, even if the ships I draw are unheard of I really enjoy it. If you like it feel free to stick around, I don't see myself doing nsfw stuff, but I'll be here to post sfw stuff!

I also love Illustration and would really love to be able to work on album covers, book covers or even game art one day.
