Happy Birthday Newgrounds!

And the locker collab! It’s out, it’s done, it’s finished! So what are my reflections and experiences on it all?

Wow, a month has flown by. It feels like just yesterday I was searching for a programmer in the collab part of the site, with no clue if anyone would even want to help, especially since I’d never organised a collab before. I’ve joined plenty, but running one with no experience and having a small fan-base to pool for people, that’s a whole different beast.

I was completely blown away. At first, there were just 19 of us in the Discord. I went to bed, and overnight I woke up to hundreds of notifications on NG forums, and suddenly, over 100 people in the Discord!

It was honestly a bit terrifying, lol. At first, I had no idea how it would all come together, especially since I’d never worked with a programmer before and as more and more people joined, I started to wonder if we could actually pull it off with such little experience.

For weeks, I was churning out assets, backgrounds, and cutting out submissions, just figuring things out as I went. It was a huge learning curve, but absolutely worth it. @brandyoghurt was incredible the whole time, super driven, working their ass off to get everything up and running.

The amount of talent everyone brought was just amazing. So many creative lockers packed with Easter eggs. Everyone really turned that simple template into something unique and full of life! Each one feels personal, with its own story and history.

And don’t even get me started on the musicians, they absolutely crushed it. I don’t think there’s a single track that doesn’t slap. Funny thing is, I hadn’t even planned to include a music player at first but we had such a huge turnout we made an area to give them the showcase they deserved.

I really hope you all enjoy exploring them.
